Cheerleading has evolved so much over the years and so has our program and the youth athletes we serve. Our program offers flag, minor, junior, and senior teams with the help of volunteer coaches. Wildcats Cheer is open to all youth athletes ages 5 to 14 living within Alberta Smith, Bettie Weaver, Clover Hill, Millwood, Old Hundred, Winterpock, Woolridge Elementary School, and others in and outside of the Chesterfield area. We invite girls and boys interested in cheerleading to be part of the Wildcat family!
Our youth cheer program focuses on four elements:
Safety - As in all sports, we place a great deal of importance on keeping our athletes safe. Cheerleading involves tumbling and stunting. Our coaches train athletes on proper techniques to ensure overall safety and reinforce this throughout the season.
Teamwork - We are a team first. Working together to achieve team goals is a part of the sport that will carry on into life on and off the mat. Cheerleading requires partnership to execute stunts, timing to perform choreography, and awareness to ensure each others safety. As the season progresses, the team develops trusting relationships and synchronicity with one another which ultimately shows in their half time performances and competition routines. It’s exciting to watch!
Team Spirit & Role Models - Cheerleaders promote team spirit and excite the crowd at games. They lead by example with a positive attitude and promote inclusivity on and off the mat.
Fun - This is youth sports! At the end of the day, we want your children to learn and to have fun! We incorporate team building, friendly conditioning competitions, and provide opportunities for your child’s personality to shine. And parents, we want YOU to have fun, too! Come to games dressed in blue and gold, cheer for the players on the field, cheer with the cheerleaders on the sideline, bring signs and noise makers. It enhances the fun and unity we all enjoy!
If you have any questions, please reach out to our Cheerleading Administrator Kelli Cattie and welcome to the Wildcat family!
Go Wildcats!

Attendance

Consider your families schedule before committing to this sport and have a conversation with the Cheer Administrator or your coach, as needed.
Pre Season Practice (August - 1st Day of School)

2021 CCL Competition Performances
Post Season (November)
Both conference winners and the six (6) teams with the next best records enter the playoffs in each division, Northern and Southern. The playoffs are single elimination and culminate with the Championship game typically in mid November.
The AllStar game will take place the weekend after the Championship game, typically the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Five (5) cheerleaders from each team, selected by their coaches, will participate and will be advised in advance.
We encourage all cheerleaders and parents to join us in routing on the teams that made it to the playoffs.
An early December awards and recognition event will close out the season.
